Halloween Fun

Through my Online Calligraphy Guild (cyberscribes) I organized a Halloween exchange this year.I love love love Halloween and wanted it to be celebrated as much as possible. The hardest thing for me was picking the stamp set I wanted to use. There are so many Halloween sets this year for some reason (silly me... it is the best holiday). I ended up using Twick or Tweet because those who know me know I usually go cute. I like the way it turned out. I used Night & Day designer paper which I WILL be stocking up on before the holiday mini ends in January. This paper is amazing and it is all black and white which can be used at any time. I used a new technique that I will be teaching in a upcoming class with crystal effects to give it a gloss. Then of course jeweled it up a bit with fire crystal brads.

Then of Course Treats for the kids:)

More fun birthday items...

Ok things are a little more calm now so I can share the other goodies I came up with. I did treats bags for his class and used the lots of bots stamp for the tag. On the back I then put Happy 4th Birthday Rocco!

To round up everything I ended it with Wonderful Thank You note for all of the wonderful gifts he received. This was a mini version of the invitation. It was so fun correlating all of these fun party treats.

Birthday Invites

Every since the new catalog came out in July I have been looking forward to this month. My son's birthday is on the 11th and he LOVES Wall-e. This stamp looked just like him to me so I HAD to make his birthday party invitations. With the "Lots of Bots" stamp set and the Crushed Curry and Night of Navy card stock were a PERECT match. It was meant to be. I will also be making gift tags and treat bag labels... and anything else I can come up with :) I will post those later.

September SAS

This month was great. We had one gal who had never stamped before so seeing her get into it was great. I know she had fun by the end of the night and I loved seeing her do new things. I introduced the glossy white card stock that gives any project a photo like quality. I introduced 2 new techniques as well. Heat embossing as well as 2 step stamping that gives your project a more dimensional look as you can see on the Curry and Olive card used with the Of the Earth stamp set.

August SAS

This was my first "official" class. As nervous as I was it worked out great. Luckily I had people there that I am comfortable with. So even if I would have goofed they would let me slide :)

These are the cards we did. The new product I introduced was the new In Colors. Seeing them in the new 2009-2010 idea book I was a bit unsure on whether I would like them or not but once you actually SEE them ... amazing. Now I can't get enough!! The technique I introduced was the babywipe pad tecnique. This allows you to have more than one color on your stamp as you see in the flowers on the Mambo Melon card. Can't wait for next month...

Stamp a Stack Classes

Each month I try to hold at one SAS Class each month. During this class we get together and make 10 cards, 5 designs. All supplies are provided. This is a way to get your hands on different stamp sets and products that you either are considering and not sure if they would work, to get new ideas, or just get away and have FUN!

I try to introduce at least one new product and one new technique. I definitely take requests if there is a particular product that you would like to see and play with I would love to help with that.

Once you get it in your hands

By profession I am a calligrapher. I have been doing this now for almost 7 years. I have had the honor of being a part of several weddings. But I also love doing crafts of all kinds. I came across a booth at a craft show about 4 years ago that had scrapbooking ideas. Being a calligrapher I have to deal with high quality stationery so of course my first thought is no way is this that "high quality" and under the impression that Stampin' Up! was just a rubber stamping company. So I signed up for newsletters and always marveled over the gorgeous paper crafts that were being made. Finally 7 months ago I decided to have a demonstration. I was totally in AWE of how great the products were. Not only do they have a HUGE variety of rubber stamps... everything else is the icing on the cake. The ink, paper, tools, etc... so many exciting things. I HAD to be a part of this company. So I signed up right away to be an independent demonstrator. Since then I have learned so much. It is amazing all of the techniques you can learn. Once you get these products in your hands I am sure you will fall in love as well.
